1. Information we collect
- Account and contact information, including name, phone, email, language preference and profile photo where provided or required.
- Reservation and trip information, including pickup/drop-off, date/time, passenger count, vehicle/service preference, flight or airport details, notes, history and service status.
- Trip-chat communications between a client and assigned driver, including the original message, language information and any automated translation displayed to the other participant.
- Driver application and compliance information, including driver license, vehicle registration, insurance, chauffeur/for-hire permits, vehicle for-hire permits, airport/port credentials, declared service jurisdictions, approval status and payout-related account status when applicable.
- Location information used for active trips and, for an approved driver who elects/operates as available for dispatch, availability location used to estimate proximity/ETA and offer services.
- Payment and transaction information needed for authorization, capture, refunds and receipts. Full card details are handled by the payment processor and are not intended to be stored directly by MCSC.
- Technical and security information used for authentication, app installation/activation counting, notifications, fraud/security controls and reliable operation.
2. How we use information
- Create and protect accounts and manage client/driver profiles.
- Quote, reserve, dispatch, assign, track and complete transportation services.
- Enable trip-specific client/driver communication and automatically translate chat messages into the recipient's selected language while retaining the original message for service, safety and dispute records.
- Estimate driver proximity and ETA, manage availability and support intelligent dispatch when enabled.
- Process payment authorization, final charges, refunds and receipts.
- Provide customer support, safety functions and operational records.
- Measure app activations, registrations and recent usage in aggregate operational dashboards.
- Verify driver identity, vehicle and insurance eligibility, applicable operating credentials and compliance with legal, accounting, insurance and regulatory obligations.
3. Location information
During an active trip, driver location may be collected for dispatch, navigation support, trip progress, arrival/final-location verification, safety and route history. On native mobile devices, this tracking may continue while the app is minimized, in the background, or the screen is locked until the active service ends. When Smart Dispatch/availability features are enabled, an approved driver's location may also be transmitted while the driver is marked available, including in the background on supported native devices, so MCSC can estimate ETA to a pickup and determine service eligibility. Availability tracking stops when the driver is no longer participating as available or otherwise becomes ineligible for dispatch. MCSC does not use driver location for advertising. Before native background location permission is requested, the app displays a prominent disclosure explaining the applicable active-trip or availability use. Device permissions and app controls may affect collection.
4. App activation and activity metrics
The app may create a random installation identifier stored on the device to count unique app activations without using device fingerprinting. We may record platform, first/last activity time and, after login, associate the installation with the authenticated account for operational metrics such as registered users and active users. Reinstalling or clearing app storage may create a new identifier, so app-measured activations may differ from official App Store or Play Store download statistics.
5. Optional safety audio recording
For certain trips, a client may request an optional safety audio recording. Recording is authorized only when the trip is marked for recording and the assigned driver has accepted that condition. Audio is stored in private app storage for authorized safety/incident review. Selected recordings may be processed by an automated transcription/translation provider for that purpose.
6. Recording retention
Safety recordings are scheduled for deletion after 30 days when there is no reported incident or administrative hold. An incident or hold may require longer retention while reasonably necessary. Associated automated transcript/translation is deleted when the underlying recording is deleted from the app database.
7. Service providers and sharing
MCSC does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for cross-app advertising tracking. We may disclose information reasonably necessary to providers supporting hosting, authentication, maps/routing, payments, email/SMS, push notifications, analytics/operational metrics, transcription/translation and other business systems. When a transportation service is assigned to an approved outside transportation company or partner driver, MCSC may provide the trip details reasonably necessary to perform that service, such as the passenger name, contact number, pickup and destination, schedule, passenger count, service notes and applicable safety/service instructions. We may also disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights and safety. Providers and transportation partners receiving personal information are expected to use it only for the applicable service, operational, safety, compliance or legal purpose and protect it appropriately.
8. Cookies and device storage
Our website and apps may use essential cookies, local/device storage or similar technologies for login, security, preferences, installation identifiers and core functionality. Nonessential technologies are subject to applicable consent requirements and available controls.
9. Driver identification and electronic trip records
When a driver is assigned to a transportation service, MCSC may display to the assigned rider the driver's name and photograph together with the assigned vehicle information and license plate so the rider can identify the authorized driver and vehicle before boarding. For completed rides, MCSC maintains electronic trip information used to provide or support a receipt showing the recorded origin and destination, total trip time, total trip distance and total fare paid. Trip distance and duration may be derived from trip status timestamps and location records collected during the passenger-carrying portion of the service.
10. Data retention and security
MCSC maintains individual ride records for at least one year after the date each ride is provided and individual driver records for at least one year after the driver's relationship with MCSC ends, consistent with applicable transportation-network recordkeeping requirements. Certain records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary for an unresolved payment, refund, chargeback, complaint, safety incident, legal claim, audit, tax, accounting, insurance or other legal or regulatory obligation. Optional safety recordings follow the separate retention period described above. When a retention obligation ends, information may be deleted, deidentified or retained only as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we maintain, but no electronic system can be guaranteed completely secure.
11. Account deletion and privacy choices
You may request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information to the extent provided by applicable law. Account deletion can be initiated inside the app or through the public page at app.mesacarservice.com/eliminar-cuenta. Deleting an account revokes access and removes account credentials, but it does not require MCSC to prematurely destroy ride, payment, driver-compliance, safety, audit, insurance or other records that MCSC must or is permitted to retain for an applicable legal, regulatory or legitimate recordkeeping period. Where appropriate, account-identifying information may be minimized or replaced while required records are preserved. Drivers may change device location permissions; disabling required location can prevent active-trip tracking or eligibility for location-based dispatch. Privacy requests may be submitted using the contact information below.
12. Children
Our accounts are not directed to children acting independently. A parent, guardian or responsible adult should make and manage reservations involving minors as appropriate. MCSC does not intentionally design the app to solicit personal information directly from young children.
13. Policy updates
We update this policy when our services, technology, data practices or legal requirements materially change. The current effective date is displayed here, and renewed acceptance may be requested when appropriate.
